Accountable to Director, Information Technology
Job Summary: Maintains all corporate databases, and monitors health, tuning and growth of such databases. Provides release management support for databases, ensures security and maintenance on databases, maintains schema and database objects, and prepares documents as required. Adept with most aspects of database development and monitoring. Adept at setting up and configuring databases. Develops and participates in the development of database objects and performs other duties as directed.

Principle Responsibilities:

1 Acts as the primary technical resource for all SQL database systems and performs all technical and administrative duties required for the installation, support, tuning, and operations for all SQL databases. 55%
2 Participates in project team meetings with users and development staff to convert data requirements and reengineering requirements into database designs and serves as the technical and database reference to project team members. Develops and aids in the development of SQL objects. 15%
3 Maintains database dictionaries, adheres to standards and procedures, and provides system integration assistance through database design. 10%
4 Installs, maintains and utilizes various supporting software, e.g., SQL server, middleware and network components. 10%
5 Develops database security standards and guidelines and ensures adherence by development teams and all operational staff as well as end-users. Develops and implements replication, archiving and backup and recovery strategies. 5%
6 Works with the systems administration and training staff and user community to successfully implement new systems and keeps log of work done. 5%
7 Performs other duties as assigned. - as needed

Job Specifications:
? Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems or applicable job experience
? Minimum seven years of progressive information technology experience
? Minimum five years SQL administration experience
? On a backup basis provides basic Unix system administration; basic shell programming and scripting; provides after-hours support as needed
? Computer Skills: Windows-general; E-Mail-general; MS Office components-fundamentals
