Accountable to Director, Information Technology
Job Summary: Provides complex and/or multiple levels of technical support and technical expertise in design functions. Acts as technical lead and/or team lead as needed for medium to complex efforts.
Principle Responsibilities:
1 Writes and tests application code for complex business systems. Performs comprehensive unit testing to ensure that code is acceptably bug-free and fully compliant with the design. Develops in Flex, web, client/server, web services, and database environments. 40%
2 Responsible for the design of complex systems and enhancements to meet specific business requirements. Develops functional designs and specifications. Coordinates and communicates design specifications with staff. Assists in evaluating and recommending technical solutions. 20%
3 Creates and maintains technical documentation outlining application design and function. Ensures documentation is accurate and complete. Assists in establishing documentation standards. 15%
4 Assists and supports QA testers as necessary with development and execution of test plans. Responds in a timely manner to test defects reported by QA testers. Ensures requirements are documented sufficiently for testing needs. 10%
5 Coordinates with information technology department and user community to successfully implement and maintain systems. Responds to assigned help desk issues. Ensures the documentation of the resolution and appropriate tracking of assigned calls. Ensures appropriate and complete user documentation and training materials. Assists in establishing user documentation approach and standards. 10%
6 Perform other duties as assigned. 5%
Job Specifications:
? Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or relevant experience.
? Minimum five years development experience. Minimum one year Flex development experience.
? Ability to work in a team environment and be technical and/or team lead for medium to complex efforts and to ensure successful team executed efforts. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills. Strong experience in working with end users and establishing collaborative rapport. Strong understanding and experience with full application development lifecycle and formal methodologies. Understanding of process engineering. Understanding of project management concepts. Experience with a variety of systems and package implementations, conversions, migrations, etc.
? Technical expertise must include: Adobe Flex version 3.0 or greater; Cairngorm framework; .NET Framework version 2.0 and greater; Visual Basic/C# .NET; Web Services, XML, SQL Server, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript; Unit Testing; Strong understanding of n-tier architecture concepts; Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project.
? The following are preferred but not required: WebORB, .NET Framework version 3.5 and greater; WCF, ADO.NET Entity Framework, LINQ, CSS; Windows desktop and server operating systems, including IIS.
