Service Management Inc, a multi faceted service provider focusing in the janitorial industry is in need of a seasoned Janitorial Operations Manager. At present we serve clients ranging from commercial and industrial real estate properties to residential, campus, education, warehouse and trucking customers. The focus will be in the Chicago and greater Illinois market; however we have customers throughout the country.

Our company is currently in a growth mode and the ideal candidate will have a strong janitorial operations background focused in account management, labor management, training, HR and account service aspects of the janitorial business. This position is one set for growth potential and for the right person looking to grow and advance within our organization.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing our janitorial operations
2. Managing our janitorial staff
3. Creating operational programs to fit our client needs
4. Training new and current staff in all aspect of the janitorial responsibilities as well as safety. These may include janitor functions, waxing and stripping, carpet care, carpet shampooing and extraction, etc.
5. Inspecting our client sites to ensure quality service and delivery
6. Working with other managers when bidding new work to ensure a proper staffing levels and service
7. Participate in networking functions and trade shows

Requirements include:

1. Five (5) years of janitorial operations management experience focused from the account and branch level
2. Five (5) years of managing janitorial employees both in a non union and union environment
3. Ability to train on the employee level all aspects of the janitorial requirements to include basic janitorial functions and safety
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills
5. Ability to plan, organize and manage their time effectively
6. Multi tasking skills
7. Ability to work independently and be self motivated
8. Understand the sense of urgency that comes with our business and be action oriented to resolve customer and company issues
9. Ability to work well within a team as well as alone
10. Capability to interact with a variety of individuals
11. Have the ability to build and maintain relationships
12. Qualified to use MS Office programs
