Smart gardener has recently launched its Backyard service in Chicago. This service provides compete garden planning, installation, planting, weekly maintenance, and harvesting to food conscience consumers who lack knowledge or are too busy to manage a family garden themselves.

Positions available:
Organic Gardeners: Must be experienced and have a strong working knowledge of plant care, succession and companion planting, pest and disease control, and garden management. You must be able to interact with our customers (sell), be willing to do some marketing to build the territory, and be flexible in work schedule. This is an hourly position, part to full time, seasonal. Some select permanent positions will be available.

Construction Manager and Staff: Have experience in the safe handling of power tools on site. Able to do physical labor and work in all weather conditions. Basic construction only, not finished, is required. Having tools is a plus. This is an hourly part time to full time position.

Admin Support: This is a key position supporting the C.E.O. Must be a skilled business writer, editor, proof reader. Able to do lite book keeping (Quick Books) accurately. Able to post and manage lite social media efforts, deal directly with customers, the press, vendors, etc. Hourly part to full time.

Landscape Designer: Must be skilled in visualizing garden layouts and create attractive renderings to support the sales cycle. Must we efficient in your creativity and able to turn projects quickly and at all levels of complexity. Regional landscape plant knowledge, and specifically vegetable gardening, is a required. This is a part time or contract position.
