More infoA Chicago Asset Management / Investment Firm seeks an Investment Associate. The Investment Associate will contribute to every stage of the investment process, including sourcing new investments, performing due diligence, forming investment recommendations and monitoring & analyzing the portfolio. The Associate will report directly to the CIO but all team members work alongside each other in a collegial and collaborative manner. The Firm has a mandate to pursue attractive investment opportunities globally and across asset classes. As such, the Investment Associate will benefit from exposure to a broad array of investment strategies and gain experience in managing a diversified investment portfolio. Initially, the Investment Associate will likely work directly with senior team members to accomplish many goals but he\she will quickly be challenged to grow and take on more responsibility, including the following:

* Evaluate capital market conditions and identify attractive investment opportunities.
* Contribute to the investment selection process by participating in meetings with investment managers and by rigorously analyzing their processes, organizations, performance and portfolio holdings.
* Draft investment recommendations.
* Monitor and analyze the performance and characteristics of current investments, including individual managers, complete investment portfolios and their sub-strategies.
* Develop and maintain new and existing proprietary analytical tools used for performance and portfolio analysis.

Qualifications:
* The successful candidate will be a mature, poised individual with an outstanding intellect and analytical skills.
* An academic background in finance, economics or another quantitative field is strongly preferred.
* Minimum two years work experience in a high performance environment such as an investment banking analyst.
* Strong quantitative skills, a passion for investments and command of Excel and PowerPoint are absolutely essential.
* Intellectual curiosity, strong work ethic, attention to detail, ambition and a propensity to be a "self-starter" are essential personality traits.
* An Associate should have sufficient prior experience to work independently on analytical tasks with minimum supervision, though no experience in investment or portfolio management is required.
* Investment experience is not required.
* Responsibilities will vary depending on the experience, qualifications and professional maturity.
