Manager of Accounting Policy and Research (Chicago)

Due to growth within their business, the firm is in search of a Manager of Accounting Policy and Research to join their team. This person will handle a variety of issues relating to accounting treatments, FASB pronouncements, and special projects. Responsibilities include:
Evaluate the impact of proposed and new accounting rules and advise senior management on actions
Provide proactive, expert consultation and support on transactions, new product initiatives and other issues requiring technical accounting interpretations by identifying and addressing accounting policy and reporting issues
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Finance partners and internal stakeholder groups, including our Parent Company
Maintain the Corporate Accounting Policy Manual. Provide expertise in recommending enhancements and/or additions to the Manual
Qualifications
8+ years of experience, preferably from a publicly-traded organization
Accounting policy experience required
Prior SEC reporting experience required
Prior public accounting experience preferred
CPA preferred
Bachelors degree in accounting required
