Position Description:
The Route Driver position is responsible for executing daily empting of collection boxes in an assigned geographical territory that is broken into specific route-days. His/her duties are centered on driving a company provided vehicle safely, providing unsurpassed courteous service to our site-hosts and conveying a professional image to the public. The Route Driver must be an environment minded individual, possess strong communication skills, be a self-starter and team player that will contribute his/her fair share to U'SAgain's winning work environment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company provided vehicle
- Maintain a clean, neat and presentable professional image
- Collect materials i.e., clothes, shoes and miscellaneous items from drop-boxes.
- Bag material as needed
- Lift 50 lbs items several hundred times per day.
- Keep the bagged types of material separated on the truck.
- Deliver the collected material to designated warehouse, and offload products safely.
- Maintain daily records; reporting to supervisor daily collected amounts (weights) as well as issues with site hosts, conditions of drop-boxes, truck issues
- Swap and move drop-boxes and place new ones on sites on an as needed basis.
- Perform maintenance including washing of the containers in the workshop or on the site.
- Perform any other duties required including warehouse work such as baling clothes, shipping and receiving if needed.
- Follow company standards and policies - among others in the areas of safety, order and good maintenance of the equipment so that the collection reflects a professional and well-run company.
- Make proactive efforts to maximize and optimize tonnage of clothes collected from our collection boxes
Scope of work
- Normal 40 hour work week
- May need to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Working outside in extreme weather conditions and temperature range
- Extensive physical labor i.e.:
o driving vehicle
o working in bent-over conditions and at times in confined space when emptying collection bin
o lifting & throwing 10 lb -- 50 lb bags of clothes several hundred times a day
o moving, pushing and pulling carts weighing over 500 lbs more than 30 times per day
- Use of scanner equipment
- Daily communication and interface with sites-hosts, the public, internal warehouse and administrative U'SAgain team members.
- Daily "1 on 1" quick mini-meeting with direct supervisor
- Weekly face to face meeting with direct supervisor and other management members as needed

Experience, Education and Background required
- High School Graduate
- 1 year experience at route driving
- Experience at driving 16' -- 24' straight trucks
- Safe driving record clear and free of moving violations
- Detail oriented individual
- Workaholic
- Excel and word capabilities
- Driver license classification of C or greater. No D's will be considered.
