Duties and responsibilities your fellow Zapponians will come to you for include:

Brainstorming and meeting with users; requirements gathering and definition, and communication. To help bring ideas to life!
Vet technologies, design and build internal applications (mostly web-based) that are destined for developing and enhancing the Zappos culture.
Independently manage the software development aspects of several concurrent projects. This consists of proactively identifying and securing resources, support and maintenance, and carrying all the aforementioned responsibilities with a sense of grace and/or style (ideally both).

Experience and skills needed to do that thing you love at Zappos:

High degree of proven skill in a combination of the following: Java (Spring, web services) and/or .NET software development.
BS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Portfolio of user-friendly, highly interactive and popular, web-based applications for small companies or start-ups.
Have either a most or least-favorite web framework (bonus points if you have written your own MVC framework).
Perl and MySQL/Oracle knowledge a plus.
Ability to understand the above bullet point.

Oh, lovely! Nice to have's:

Experience programming in an open source environment is helpful.
Have at least 3 unfinished personal projects scattered around the Internets
