LIVE IN EXPERIENCED CAREGIVER (City of Chicago, Gold Coast)

? Preparing meals (mostly ordering out, as she is sensitive to smells so does not like heavy cooking)

? Grocery shopping (stores within walking distance of her apartment complex)

? Walking and caring for her dog (her dog is like a child and very, very important to her)

? Companionship (watching TV, "Dancing with the Stars", "The Good Wife", etc.)

? Laundry (she has an in home washer and dryer)

? Light cleaning (she has a cleaning lady once a week that does the main cleaning)

? Taking her to the beauty shop (she has a car and likes to be driven, but cab is fine too)

? Occasional other errands

Our mother is a 70+ year old woman who has most of her faculties but has limited vision and coordination after suffering from strokes and heart attacks. She also suffers from chronic pain and arthritis and is not always in a good mood. She is able to conduct her own bathing and oral hygiene activities but on occasion needs help grooming (e.g., applying makeup).

We are looking for someone who speaks fluent English, and is very organized and neat and clean both personally and for the job, and will focus their attention on her and her dog during their waking hours (occasionally she takes naps). She also needs occasional motivation to go on a walk or perform light exercise for her health. Caregiver cannot smoke or wear heavy perfumes, as our mother is hypersensitive to smells.

This is a four day per week live in position in Chicago's Gold Coast area running from Monday at 5 PM through Friday at 5 PM. Caregiver will have her own separate room and bathroom accommodations. Compensation is $100 per day, or $400 per week and includes all meals. Caregiver should also live within reasonable proximity to Gold Coast area in order to minimize travel strain.
