Duties will include curating the wine and beer list, cocktail program, and non-alcoholic beverage selections, including the morning brunch n.a. list and coffee program, training and overseeing a bar staff of 12-14 members, training a service staff of 25, maintaining cost controls, closing the daily books, and daily general restaurant floor management. Active floor supervision is a major requirement of this job. But mainly it's a passion for hospitality that is required. Our Beverage Director is instrumental in establishing a culture of good service, of honest and pretension-less care for our guests. In addition, the Director will need to understand the culinary potentials of a beverage program that is truly in tandem with the restaurant's cuisine. We are interested in the small, the unusual, the avant garde, the frugal, the unpredictable, yet we insist on artisanship, on craft and technique.
