- A strong mechanical ability and an enjoyment in solving mechanical problems.
- The critical thinking to differentiate between projects that require .0001" accuracy and those requiring a tape measure.
- Technical fluency with computers, various software programs, and new forms of machining.
- A solid understanding of basic machining processes -- grinding, milling, lathe work, etc.
- An interest in continuous adaptation and learning new machining process and technology.
