Mastering Manager (Chicago, 60606)

The team will be tasked with ingesting, QCing, repairing, and finalizing video assets to be stored on site as master files. The workflow will be Mac-based, using primarily QuickTime Pro and Final Cut Pro to QC and alter files.

Primary duties include:
Oversee day-to-day operations and workflow of the Chicago office, including a staff of 10 full-time employees.
Help establish and execute workflow and reporting process and procedures for employees who will be mastering video assets.
Schedule employee shifts and work structure to maintain consistent and quality workflow.
Establish information sharing procedures, both within your office and between your office and HQ, that ensures work is scheduled, tracked and completed in a timely and consistent manner.
Troubleshoot some technical issues and work with IT professionals to resolve larger issues.
Eventually, hire and train new employees.

Skills and Background:
At least 1-2 years experience managing employees and/or overseeing projects, preferably in the realm of digital media.
Strong understanding of digital video and audio (ex. NTSC vs. PAL, HD vs. SD aspect ratios, interlaced vs. progressive, multi-channel audio configurations, codecs, standards conversions)
Manager should be able to devise and implement process. Organization, consistency, and accuracy are critical.
Should show demonstrated ability to work alone, with a team, and as a team leader.

Should be willing to work occasional nights/weekends if necessary.
