Seeking Technical Guru to implement our backend.
Please leave the ego at the door.

We are creating a common web platform for the fragmented non-profit sector.

The web portal will be a clean, intuitive, and social way for users to engage in philanthropy on a daily basis.

A first of its kind platform for non-profits to market their organization to users based on complex matching algorithms.

This is a tremendously scalable project that will likely serve every non-profit across the country, with eventual international expansion, if done correctly.

This is a for-profit business serving the non-profit sector.

We have some traction already.
? Wire framing complete
? $500,000 seed investment partially raised
? Beta expected for July 2013

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

? Plans, designs, and develops new feature functionality for our databases, platforms, widgets, and applications.
? Writes code that contain logical and mathematical solutions to business problems or questions.
? Creates code for a strong backend that could handle our frontend.
? Identifies, troubleshoots and debugs defects in designated code.
? Works with the Co-Founders to design, develop, and document data integration methods.
? Be able to translate technical geek speak into English for the common person.
? Accountable for meeting delivery dates on assigned projects and tasks.
? We are a start-up and require a team-oriented, all-hands-on-deck attitude to achieve company goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? Experience in architecture, design and development of the backend.
? MySQL experience required for database integration.
? Knowledge of integrating the different components of our backend.
? More important is the experience in seamless integration of the various components of the backend functionality.
? Required/Mandatory Practical experience in:
o Strictly Backend: LAMP, Tcl/Tk, Cron, SSH, SSL and Sockets.
o Database: MySQL
o Other: MVC, ElasticSearch and OOPs.
? Preferred practical experience or knowledge in:
o Scripting Languages: Bash, Python, Perl and JavaScript.
o Frameworks:
? PHP frameworks: Laravel or CodeIgniter.
? JS frameworks: Node.js, Backbone.js, or Ember.js.
? Python frameworks and other.
? Basic understanding of the following technologies:
o Networking, Client-server and Web2.0.
o Code & Content modularization & overloading.
o Structured coding with proper documentation & commenting.
o Basic front-end interaction with JSON/XML, Ajax, & JQuery.
? Highly disciplined personality.
? US Citizen or Resident.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

? M.S. In Computer Science with 2 years experience (or) B.S. in Computer Science with 4 years of experience.
? Minimum of 2 years experience working/hands-on experience with frontend/backend design, development and testing.
? Experience working within startups/small groups preferred, but not a requirement.
? Willing to Travel if necessary or required for the position
