Human Resources Manager (Chicago)

We are looking for a solid Human Resource/HR Generalist. This role is an opportunity to be a highly visible, hands on manager reporting directly to the President. This position is responsible for the overall human resources practices of the company, which include employee relations, compliance with federal and state employment law across multiple states, implementation of Company policy, new hire and exit process, employee relations, benefits administration, workers compensation and Training.

The ideal candidate will be self-directed with the desire to make a long-term commitment to the growth and expansion goals of the company. Must have the ability to work independently, and deliver results that exceed expectations. Excellent people and communications skills (both oral and written), strategic thinking, and organizational skills are a must! A team attitude, passion for human resources and a common sense approach to issues are keys for success with this company. ?Base salary between $55-65K. Company offers a full comprehensive benefits package including a match 401K program.

?Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible HR generalist experience managing HR functions
Minimum of 3 years management experience
PHR/SPHR certification preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform as a business partner with management teams.
Proven integrity, honesty and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Knowledgeable of compliance with Federal and multiple State employment laws
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Advanced PC skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Prior retail or food service experience a plus
