A very popular, Chef driven restaurant on the Mag Mile is seeking a strong, driven Kitchen Manager to help run a very busy, high caliber kitchen. We have a very talented culinary team but due to our volume are looking for someone to help run the restaurant from a back of house point of view.

The ideal Kitchen Manager candidate will have 5 plus years experience in kitchens with at least 3+ years kitchen management experience. Sous Chefs will be considered but must have strong organizational skills. This is a key, hands on position. Candidate would be involved in ordering and receiving food, beverage, china, glass and silver. The kitchen manager will be working with our receiver and other key personnel to ensure kitchen, wine cellar and walk ins are organized and FIFO method is in use in all areas. The Kitchen Manager will be involved in some aspects of the operation but is predominantly needed to help drive BOH controls.

The person in this position would also assist in overseeing repairs and maintenance related issues and dealing with venders of all kinds.

Requirements:
Must be a strong negotiator
Must have scheduling flexibility (though day time hours can be expected)
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to maneuver in a high volume environment
Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs
Formal culinary training a plus! But not required.
