According to recent reports, there are nearly 12,000 special education teaching positions that remain unfilled nationwide. Multiply that by all the students affected, and we're looking at more than 100,000 students without the support they need and deserve.

Special education shouldn't mean shortchanged education. Become a special education teacher through the Chicago Teaching Fellows and be part of a unique, committed movement of individuals who believe all students can and must achieve at high levels. Fellows who teach special education are not (necessarily) people with prior experience in special education nor with a specific skill set -- but rather they are people who have the unwavering belief that all students can learn.
