Position Summary
Prepares food in accordance with club recipes, standards and quality.
Line Cook Job Description
Line cooks, also known as assistant cooks, are responsible for much of the actual food production and plating within a full-service restaurant. Each line cook is typically assigned a place on the line, such as the grill, stove or vegetable prep area, and is responsible for cooking that specific portion of the meal. In addition to playing a large part in the actual production of each meal, the line cook is also responsible for several duties that revolve around helping the kitchen stay clean and operational between and after meals. Other production duties may include but not limited to, any food preparation related to banquets, parties, special events, and ala carte dining.
Job Functions
? Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members and guests
? Performs opening and/or closing duties as applicable
? Prepares all items require by the Executive Chef
? Trains new staff members
? Reports directly to Executive Chef before and after shift
? Prep all necessary food items for service menu
? Set up all food items according to menu necessary for service
? Notify Executive Chef of any food or supplies shortages
? Maintain and breakdown cook stations
? Adhere to health department standards
? Prepare all menu items in accordance with established portions and presentation
? Clean work station including, but not limited to, pots, pans, all utensils and unused food to be stored

Skills
Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of fine dining meal preparation preferred. Able to use kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively.
Salary
Hourly rate: $13-$15 Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
