We're looking for a server administrator to join our team. You'll join a growing group of talented, hard-working, and fun individuals working to support Aspex Solutions' products. Our flagship product, AppliTrack, is a web-based applicant tracking solution used by over 1,800 school-districts nation-wide (as well as several municipalities, park districts, and private companies in the United States, and a growing number of international clients!)
As our server administrator you'll primarily be responsible for monitoring and expanding our web platform. Our server platform has been hand-built from the ground up to support the kinds of load and responsiveness expected from our three core applications: AppliTrack Recruiting & HR Files, K12JobSpot.com and AppliTrack Selection.
Our server platform consists of a multi-tiered architechture built on Microsoft software and Dell hardware. On average, our server farms receive 300 web requests per second from our user population of over 75,000 adminstrators and 5,500,000 employment applicants. With a 99.9% up-time gaurantee, we're looking for an individual who can take the heat when something goes down and investigate the issue to avoid it in the future. We're also looking for someone who enjoys documenting and sharing their solutions with others because we all think solving problems is fun!
This opportunity and salary is flexible and scalable. If you're a good fit, we'll consider all applicants from part-time entry level to full-time certified engineers.
The ideal candidate would have experience with, in order of preference:
- Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
- IIS 7.0+
- MS SQL Server
- Knowledge of how web sites function including knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and VBScript
- Ability to recognize reoccurring problems and suggest possible solutions
- Experience with supporting complex business processes
- Knowledge of common web-browsers including Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari
- Knowledge of PC hardware and software
The position is salaried, comes with excellent benefits and sane work hours. We're looking for someone to work out of our Skokie office but would consider a blend of on-site and off-site personnel if the fit was right.
