Position Purpose:
Update, monitor and continued development of safety policies, procedures and training programs for new and existing DOT issues.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Responsible for managing company safety department.
?
? Ensures company compliance to Federal, State and local laws and regulations through regular inspections and analysis.
?
? The ability to order plates, IFTA stickers, read PSP scores, MVRS, and back ground checks.
?
? Administer safety policies.
?
? Develop and administer a consistent and equitable discipline process
?
? Manage the investigation process of accidents and claims.
?
? Develop and administer an effective training program
?
? Ensures compliance with applicable occupational safety and motor vehicle regulations
?
? Develops, implements, executes, and manages strategies to prevent property losses and vehicle accidents
?
? Maintain an operation that is compliant with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulatory matters.
?
? Manages all maintenance records and assures all inspections and monthly maintenance forms are received
?
? Submits monthly and quarterly fuel tax returns.
? Ensure Owner Operators are in compliance with FMCSR.
?
? The ability to order OD permits and revision sheets for the drivers.
?
? Able to work with agents and drivers on safety issues.
?
Position Qualifications:
? 3+ years in the Safety Division for a Motor Carrier
? Proficiency in all Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other related software programs
? Posses a working knowledge of transportation (DOT) regulations
? Good verbal and written communication, reading, organizational, leadership, interpersonal and team building skills, and reasoning, problem solving and analytical ability.

Physical demands and work environment:
? Operates a computer and a variety of office equipment using continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
? Performs the majority of daily work while sitting for extended periods of time movements.
? Fast-pace, indoor work environment with moderate to high noise levels.
