Job Description*
The seasonal merchandiser will act as a field representative for a grower in SW Michigan . The purpose of this position is to maximize sales for the retailer by focusing on proper care and maintenance of plant material and effective merchandising. This is a seasonal position offering employment from Mid-April through the beginning of July depending on the sales. During peak season (Late April- Early June) merchandisers are expected to be available to work a 15 hours per week, and may include working both Saturday and Sunday.
Summary of Duties
? Responsible for unloading and maintaining of product
? Create and ensure maintenance and replenishment of displays and signage.
? Maintain plan-o-gram integrity
? Work with garden center attendants on proper spacing, and watering
? Maintain a positive communications network with store management and company.
? Work with Field Coordinator to develop a weekly work schedule to ensure product is displayed and maintained in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Minimum Physical Requirements
? Ability to work independently in a customer service area is critical.
? Recent nursery/horticultural education and/or retail experience or sales education a plus.
? Daily access to personal email, basic math, leadership, and communications skills required.
? This position requires heavy pushing and pulling of shipping carts across parking lots and through the garden center.
? Must be able to climb ladders
? Must be willing to work in inclement weather (rain, wind, snow)
? Reliable transportation required

? Seasonal- Mid-April through first week of July
? Seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits.
