We currently have one entry level opening at our glass fabrication plant in Addison, Il. This is a full-time position and includes a full range of benefits including holiday pay, vacation pay, contributory health and dental insurance, life insurance, and access to our 401k retirement plan. Compensation will pay $10 per hour, plus aforementioned benefits. It is anticipated that workers will get 40 hour weeks and some Saturday work could be required.
Job Description: The Shower Door Fulfillment job requires visual inspection of glass to identify defects, verification of correct sizing against specifications, cleaning glass thoroughly, applying a special coating that protects the glass, and moving the glass to a designated area for installers. This job requires a significant amount or heavy lifting of tempered safety glass panels and being in good strong physical condition is a must. The prospective hire must be able to read a tape measure accurately, have good communication skills both in reading and writing, and be willing to learn. Additional skills to be acquired in the first year will be learning how to fabricate glass and mirror. Apprentice hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, although Saturday work could be possible.
