This job is for a hood cleaning technician with Hoodz of North Side Chicago. A hood system is another name for a kitchen exhaust system and it is the long metallic fixture that sits above all hot cooking surfaces and vents the hot greasy air to the roof (typically) where the fan on the roof sucks up the air and blows it out of the building. HOODZ of North Side Chicago began operation on August 15th, 2011. We are looking for hard working employees to get in on the ground floor and grow as the company grows, with the opportunity to manage the operation within 2-3 years or less. My ideal employee will be reliable, handy, a self starter, a quick learner, a hard worker, and may grow into one of my trusted "go to guys" to ultimately run the operation. No previous experience necessary and TRAINING IS PROVIDED.

This is currently a part-time position that could be anywhere from 25- 60 hours per week (every week is different but we are very busy these days). The pay starts at $11.00/Hour. After 30 days you are eligible for $12/Hour if continued employment is mutual. After that, additional raises will come via recommendations by the Lead Technician. In addition, there will be an opportunity to become a regular full-time employee or manager, including 401(k) Retirement Plan benefits as the company grows. Work hours are sometimes during the day, early morning, or 3rd shift, depending on when the restaurants are closed. We currently have 150 customers and are growing every month. I am a big believer in rewarding hard work and bonuses, and performance incentives will be discussed.

Technician must:
Have access to a car and be willing to drive to jobs on the north side of Chicago or to Des Plaines, IL, where our garage is located
Have a valid Driver's License
Be very honest
Be able to take direction
Be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check
Be dependable; able to show up on time, read and understand safety plans and procedures
Be physically fit; able to climb ladders to gain rooftop access to commercial establishments, able to lift and carry 50 lbs., a minimum of 100 feet
Have excellent attention to detail and work fast and efficiently
Be very handy
Be able to work flexible hours
Be able to work in both hot and cold weather
Have good communication skills; able to communicate well with customers and provide direction to other team members
Have the desire to learn quickly and be able to work in a fast paced work environment with a growing company

Job duties include:
1) Power washing of kitchen exhaust systems including hoods, duct work, filters and exhaust fans
2) The set up and take down of materials, and operation of equipment. You will be properly hanging plastic sheeting, setting up and utilizing wet/dry vacuums, operating high pressure hoses, sprayers, wiping down stainless steel hoods, climbing ladders, etc.
3) Maintain equipment, reporting any mechanical deficiencies; Put equipment back in its original and intended place.
4) Working in all types of weather
5) BEING A TEAM PLAYER!!!
