Mecalux is a global leader in the storage systems market, selling in more than 70 countries. Interlake Mecalux, the US subsidiary of Mecalux, is hiring. We are a growing company that is looking for qualified welders at our Pontiac, IL plant on all shifts.

Our welders are responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.

Responsibilities:
?Semi-automatic and manual MIG welding of frames, fixtures, beams, end plates, and other miscellaneous metal/steel parts
?Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
?Process and complete inspection, certification, and documentation
?Conduct welding equipment maintenance
?Use set-up charts, drawings or other instructions to set up fixtures
?Make adjustments to fixtures and welding equipment as required to produce a quality product
?Process inspection, certification, and documentation
?Maintain and use equipment in manner to prevent damage to equipment
?Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner
?Perform other work as directed
?Assist in other areas of the department

Requirements
?At least 6 months experience welding (MIG preferred) in a manufacturing environment
?Demonstrated proficiency in assigned welding techniques
?Understanding and interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirements symbology and blueprints.
?Working knowledge of fixtruring and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
?Proficiency using conventional and precision measuring instruments
?Must be able to pass internal welding test
?Knowledge of safe work habits within in industrial/manufacturing environment
?Ability to stand, bend and lift when necessary
?Team and results oriented, with a bias for safety and quality
