ABOUT THE ROLE
The Service Manager is responsible for developing policies, managing daily operations and planning the use of materials and resources for our servicing the needs of our 300+ semi-tractor/trailer fleet. The Manager will develop corporate strategy for our Maintenance Department while ensuring adherence to corporate policies.

In this role you will help to ensure safety & compliance {DOT, OSHA} in our Shop operations. You will provide friendly and knowledgeable service to our fleet of professional drivers, staff and technicians. You will monitor/maintain inventory using computer system and printed reports. You will audit physical inventory cycle counts periodically.

The Service Manager will work closely with other departmental Managers {Safety, Personnel, Operations} to insure compliance with all governmental entities as well as company policies. You must insure the Shop team is providing quality service & support while meeting the needs of our valued customers and Professional Drivers. Additionally the Director will oversee the site maintenance of our Indiana based facilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 5 or more years in a diesel maintenance shop with at least 2 or more years in an OTR Fleet environment.

Education: Bachelor Degree and/or Technical Certification preferred.

Considerable Diesel technical skills as well as Managerial experience is required. Knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA safety guidelines, strong verbal and written skills and ability to give clear and concise presentations to executives. Experience working with Professional Drivers, Independent Contractors and skilled Diesel Technicians in a union shop environment is preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on utilizing Excel functions and tools. Ability to work in various Microsoft Windows environments and effectively use the Internet for research purposes.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Scheduled workday is Monday - Friday. Ocassionally, schedules may change based on the needs of the business. Company cellular phone issued for emergency calls on nights and some weekends {rotating schedule} to handle cargo, accidents, personal injury and OTR breakdown/service calls. Attendance at our monthly Driver Rep meeting as well as occasional evening meetings may be required. Periodic visits to out-of-state terminals, vendors and attendance at various job-related seminars may also be required. Reasonable accommodations will be made to meet ADA guidelines.
